Personally, learning programming has been an exciting journey for me. I have been fascinated by computers and how they work right from when I was still a little boy. That was back in the days when owning a desktop computer was considered a feat!
Growing up, we didn’t have one as a family, so I admired computers from a distance and when I eventually had access to one, I fell in love with it. I could spend all night playing around it, trying to discover things on my own.
Upon graduating from high school, I wanted to study either computer science or engineering in college.
That didn’t happen!
Though I eventually studied chemical engineering, my passion for computers and programming never died.
After my college education, I found myself back in the programming world. I started with QBasic and then moved to VisualBasic.
Even though I was able to do a few projects with VisualBasic, I felt as if I was the only one using the language.
Whenever I encounter problems while working on a project or other things, most of the answers that I came across online were written C#.
This further deepened my resolve to switch to another language. Besides, it’s quite different from popular languages like Java, C++ and So on, and over time, I started learning C#. Though, I learned a little bit of Java before making the switch.
With C#, I was able to create amazing real-life projects from scratch including Point of Sales System, transcript processing software, hotel management software and so on.
Most of the applications I created with C# are desktop based.
However, with more demands for web-based applications from my clients, I started building web applications with ASP.net forms and subsequently the ASP.net core.
Regardless of how proficient I have become using the .net frameworks and languages, I wanted to try out other technologies and programming languages outside of the .net. I wanted to try out the open-source systems.
I started with Python and to my greatest surprise, I fell in love with the language. Perhaps because of its ease of learning and amazing community! At the moment, it has become my number one language that I was for development.
